An alphabet quiz for the smart board or to print out. There is a picture for each letter of the alphabet for children to name and discuss. There is a blank template for them to write the words and/or initial sounds. The answers are provided - these sheets could be used to support children that need it, for matching words or sounds to pictures or supporting writing. The pictures can also be cut out and put into alphabetical order. Play as a memory game too, where children can be given time to memorise each picture and say in response to a letter sound or in alphabetical order. Also link to plurals.

Here is a novel way for children to work on their phonics and CVC word making skills. There are 5 worksheets each showing a different vowel as the middle sound. Children make as many words as they can and write the letters in the targets. An example is done for them on each page. They may want to colour the targets as they make their words. An extra challenge is to use the same colour for any letters used more than once e.g. p as in pat is yellow in the first target, so p thereafter should be yellow.
